It has been proven by Bryan Dacus and Greg Mills over the years that all PSRU engine adapters and PSRUs that replace the stock, Yamaha OEM crankcase cover create oil foaming due to poor design that disturbs the high-velocity oil flow at the internal gear reduction gallery, resulting in poor lubrication and cooling of the oil and thus high engine operating temps. The only way BD Engineering has found to get around this dangerous problem is by adding expensive and heavy additional oil lines, cooling radiators and thermostat valves.
Mohawk Aero PSRU adapters leave the OEM crankcase covers in place, designed at Yamaha to circulate the high-velocity flowing oil without foaming, and without burping out the vent tubes in steep pitch conditions like other after-market designs all do.
